Birthday Planning

Dear Journal,
Sorry I didn’t write again yesterday. I was really busy! First, of course, we went to Fringe and Tassel. They had some really neat costumes. I’m sorry I can’t write well in the car!

Later…

Dear Journal,
Okay. I left off talking about Fringe and Tassel. It is a really cool shop. My favorite costume was the 20s swing outfits. Natalie’s munchkin costume is cute. We went to The Mill, Salvation Army and an antique shop.

At my Wizard of Oz birthday we will see the play and before we do we will watch the movie with the Pink Floyd CD, which is supposed to go with the movie. I will invite Becky, Abby, Carly, Catlin, T.J., and Michael.

Today we bought a washer and dryer, a sofa (that folds out into a bed and looks like our old one), and a desk. We got a birdie game and some other stuff.

Wizard of Oz

Dear Journal,

I am going to a costumes shop called Fringe and Tassel. Natalie is going to get her munchkin costume and I will meet the guy who will be doing costumes with Becky and I. Did I tell you that I am going to have a Wizard of Oz birthday party? I will tell you what we will do later today.

A First Journal

Dear Journal,

My name is Becca. I am going to junior high next year and am very excited. My goals for next year are to study harder, do better on homework, get involved, be organized, get better grades and have fun.

I do think junior high will be a lot of fun. A new building, people and teachers. It is such a big building! We even get our own, personal lockers! An auditorium and a snack bar with chips and ice-cream!

I hope I will achieve my goals. It is only a week and a day until we get our new house, and two cats! And is our new house I get my own room and we get a dance room. I am always dreaming of school and our house. Even though it is summer vacation I sometimes wish I could go to school now.

Grandma said today, “Well, rats don’t have brains.” I was shocked. Of course rats have brains! Why do you think they squeak? Because a message is sent to their brain to tell them they are hurting. Lucky knows a trick because of brains. Other than squirrels, rats are the smartest rodents.

Tonight Becky is taking me to see a play. It will be very fun I think.
